Okay, so i got my HO alternator from mechman charging @ 14.8v strong. Amps are independent and wired to each L7. Two bxi 2608s driving two 15'' L7s to 1ohm each. Ported Enclosure tuned to 35hz. Problem is I can't get my L7s to play properly at normal listening levels (Didn't even get a chance to turn up volume to SPL level) . Settings on each amp are as follows:

gain set by DMM to 50.9v

Phase - 0

bass eq - 0

subsonic - 25

LPF- 140hz

Both L7s have deteriated and read 0 ohms, meaning they are blown. Cone is stiff to the point where you cannot push on the cone. Electrical system includes the 250 amp alternator, d3100, red top optima, 1/0 throughout vehicle. Anybody have any insights as to why my subs are behaving this way?

played below freq?? box tuned to 35 yet subsonic set at 25?? maybe?? that combined with to much power?? ahhhh i gotta keep a watch on this thread. had a similar thing happen 2 weeks ago. sub locked up before it was at 1/3 volume and wasn`t even loud. maybe same problem.

2-1000 watt rms subs ran by 2-2600 watt rms amps equal blown subs and posible a faulty amp smart guy
Subs are seeing nowhere near 1500rms, let alone 2600rms. This was at ordinary listening levels, as i was checking for voltage readings at the amps. No vibration and No air movement, just at low volume.

Aren't I supposed to set subsonic to 10hz below my box tuning?

Although I'm running my amps independent, my phase is supposed to be set on 0 on both amps, correct?

yes, its not cause of the sub sonic filter (being set 10hz below tuning, although i set mine around 5-10 hz below tuning)), either there's a short or the subs are blown. But if the cones are froze up, chances are they're blown.

i know they are blown, it doesn't take a rocket science to figure that out. I'm trying to find out the issue before i replace them with new L7s
