My $100 Pioneer 6x9's in a sealed box running off a head unit have 100x more mid bass then my Alpine type X pros getting 125 RMS a piece mounted in my doors. Is this simply because of the 6x9's being in a sealed box or what? Thanks I am definately looking into the GTI JBL componets with the crossover the size of an amp.

Thanks for the replies. I already have about 4 sheets of Damplifier Pro on both doors. I will work on sealing them off/ and or fiberglass door pods. It might be hard to totally seal the door off.

Not if he has it deadened and not sealed off with big gaping holes exposed. I recommend roof flashing and sheet metal screws and then deaden over that and should help out a lot. Also the 6x9's have thier own little enclosure, so of course they are going to get more mid-bass response.

well basicall you have a woofer with a total displacement of 45 sq inches (btw a 10 just has 78.5 sq inches) in a sealed enclosure....vs say 6.5s in the doors? which is 33 sq inches per driver in basically a free air environment.

You say you deadened and thats great if you got all the resonation out of the door but be aware its almost IMPOSSIBLE to totally seal off a door.

I agree with whats been said, grab some sheet metal cover the big gaps in the doors and do a few layers of deadener over it

Thanks for the help. I think I am going to pick up another set of kick panels at the junkyard and do some fiberglass work to them. Possibly move the tweets to the pillars as well.
