Here's my question though. If you bought a cheap 4G phone off of ebay or CL while still having unlimited data, would you be grandfathered in when they make the switch?

Here's a loophole with ATT...

Get an original iphone and set it up with data. In their system they HAVE to give you the unlimited data package as that was the only one available at the time.

I specifically let people borrow my 1st gen iphone for this purpose. It works!
