Just went for my first time in January, going again this Memorial Day weekend.
I'm not big on hookers or gambling in the least. I do enjoy my beer and cigars though. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to smoke and drink wherever and whenever I wanted. It's nice being able to walk down the street with my beer too.
I went in January so I'm not sure how different it will be now that it's warmed up. A lot more pool action I'd presume. Theres a ton of incredible hotels just to walk through and check out, some really cool designs and architecture.
Some of my friends were into gambling, so I'd find a nearby pennies slot and spend under 1$ an hour, drinking my beer or getting free drinks from the waitresses, and smoking my cigar. If I got a drink from the waitress, I'd tip em a dollar (standard practice). A few hotels feature a "dueling pianos" bar. Which is 2 guys on separate pianos that take ANY song requests all night and ******* KILL them. It may sound lame, I dunno, but it was pretty cool and really entertaining. They knew thousands of songs. And the drinks were moderately priced. We went to the one in Planet Hollywood which was also a cool hotel all around. At night they have go-go dancers dancing between some of the tables which makes for good entertainment.
My main tips would be to bring some snacks of your own, and bring your own booze. They are entirely ok with you walking around with your own stuff, it's not an issue.

Basically you just described new orleans lol..... staying at the IP... got the ICSC REcon convention a few days somewhat and then meetings with some of our reps and seeing about making contacts with other national tenants and so forth... but will be doing other stuff... we got some VIP passes to a few of the clubs out there and stuff like that... I'm more into the sites and stuff sorta thing... and I gamble a little here and there.

My line of work i am a travel specialist. I do alot with vegas... If u want to have a good time & save some $, stay off the main strip theres another strip were the locals stay.. Some bars on the "locals" strip offer 50¢ beers. While on the main strip they charge 7 -10 bucks a drink. Also the best club in vegas is in the locals strip its called "posh". U may want to check this one out

your view of vegas is pretty lacking......there is lots to do
HooverDam,shows, museums....Vegas is fun city but it does not have to be
debauchery and hangovers ......been there 10x

Well the hotel is being paid by the Company so no choice in that... all within reason drinking/eating is getting reimbursed so lol no biggie there either.. I do plan on checking out the old strip... I'm thinking posh is one of the clubs we got VIP access, not sure tho the boss is kinda keeping that a secret. We have to "show our reps" a good time out there, so its going to be a money spending week.

Umm I wanted idea's and most of the people on here would of been doing the whole... H00kers and gambling crap which is why i said besides that. I've been to Vegas one other time when I was 12, so 21 years ago is a big difference from today.. hence the question to idea's

**** you got it made then lol... Yea the old strip everything is cheaper. You can beat 50¢ beers lol... But hell if u aint really gota pay for anything, id be goin ham lmao

I plan on gambling a little bit, here where I live I hit the casino's once or twice a month, just slots tho.. I plan on playing the tables in Vegas. Its more or less to say that I've played the tables in Vegas. lol

lol.. its reimbursed if its within reason... which means it would have to be no more than 20-40% more than my normal travel expenses on the food and stuff. Unless I'm with one of our Reps.. Then its the business card that gets used.
Yeah there's a casino just across the river in MO..I go play the slots every now and then. I just think being surronded by casinos and the whole atmosphere would make me go all out. Lol I'm sure there is a lot more to do, but when an outsider thinks Vegas, gambling and hookers is the first thing that comes to mind.

Well Vegas is all we've got for that so I dunno what goes on near you haha. That's the fun stuff I did. Granted I went with a budget of like $150, so there wasn't much spending going on. Basically it was a very frugal fun trip. Obviously there's tons of shows you can go to, and clubs to go to, if you can spend the cash.

I'm like 3 hours from Burbon St lol... i'm down there atleast 1-2 times a month... I'm hoping Vegas is a lot better tho for sure.
