VC detached from Motor?

My friends sub wont work unless he pushes down on the cone a little bit. I was thinking the VC detached from the motor but I'm not sure. Any1 know what could really cause this? Thanks

The VC isnt attatched to the motor.

Does the sub make a scratching sound when you push it?

Yep, sounds like an open coil that has locked up in the gap. The voice coil doesnt even touch the motor (normally)......in your case, I would say the VC has became "attached" to the motor...lol
