Valentines Day.... Do roses last 1500 miles?

Well im back in minnesota again for a few months , and didnt wanna send my GF whos back in san antonio flowers by delivery .. i wanted to send a nice little care packag, makes it a lil more of a surprise than the delivery.. But if i send a dozen roses are they gonna last in a box for 2 days with extreme temp changes... ie.. Its been in the teens below zero area ( air temp most of the week, 40 below wind chill ) and its 80's and 70's in san antonio.. so.. actually that makes me wonder bout the chocolates too . Anyone?

Are you talking about delivering them yourself? If so why not just find a place you can get it at your destination?

no im in minnesota for the next 2 months ... dont have a credit card ( there not good for me ) So i wanna send her a bunch of things including flowers all sent to her by mail that needs to go out tomorrow, so im gettin a lil pushed for time

If you want them to last you can wrap the stems in wet paper towels, wrapped in foil. It will also depend on how they are handled as well. Shaking and disturbances isn't going to help. Also people dry them out by hanging them upside down and leaving them for days on end and then spray them to preserve them. I give it a 50/50 chance of surviving due to UPS or whoever handling them plus the weather issues. Roses do not do well in freezing temps. Rose plants die easily over the winter in some places.

roses have a hard time lasting 2 days in a vase on a dining room table! Doubt they would make a trip in a harsh enviornment!

man.... I wish i could do that... long LONG astory why im here and shes there... but theres no way i can hand deliver .. i wish i could... Bottom line i lost my job here at shristmas time ( seasonal help ) but nothing came together after that... How can i get to san antonio from minnesota in 2 days with no money... PPl i need some good Fukn advice
