usps claim

i have some questions for u guys. i paid for my sub and the guy i got it from sent it threw usps. so the box came all beat up so i opened the box and the sub was in 2 parts. the basket was chipped and the screws where no where to b found that holds the basket to the motor etc. i had this happen the 23 i took some pics today been in talks with the guy now how does it work. i send him pics he gets his 110.00 then he send it to me then i send him back the motor/basket? i was told i can get 70.00 and keep the motor/basket.

i would get the 70 bucks and just buy another basket. is the cone/coil ok?
cone fine the coil is in bad shape. i put the sub together with out messing with how it came and there is BAD coil rub. the sub was thrown around. so how do i do it then i get my 110 pay the 25.00 to ship it back to him out of my 110.00? ummm do i have to go to my post office with the box and show them the sub it looks bad.

USPS is not a bad way to ship as long as you send subs priority with fragile marked on all surfaces. Also, when shipping USPS , it generally is faster then UPS cross country which is nice, but it is a MUST to insure it and generally shipping it from home (via stamps.com) offers faster and better insurance options.

i know, i wanted ups but i paid by usps money order and it was better to get the money order cash it and ship it. im gona get my money i have a few questions

1- how long it take on avg?

2- i get my 110 do i have to pay to ship the broken sub back or does the seller have to add extra money for that?

3- do i have to go to my local post office at any point if so is it a pain in the butt?

someone is smart enough to do a recone yet stupid enough to package it like that
yea the kabodul how ever u spell it is was around the top half but man the lower half had nothing. there is more pics i can post if u guys want. im so pissed the coil dont line up im geting nasty coil rub. im thinking 60% seller and 40% usps on this one. i want my money if i have to get 110.00 back from the seller i would eat 25.00 to ship him the motor and basket back. tbh i need the money i might get a new sub mayb one of weenie old school 15

Photo-0036.jpg picture by 1mtx1 - Photobucket i found 1 fu ckin screw that held the sub together the othere's must of fell out threw the hole in the box cuz there was one or the guy that built it did a bad job. oh yea he did direct leads and he used electrical tape to hold the coil in place i mean there is soider but the coil has to stay in the spot where the push terminal was so he wraped alot of tap and wedge the coil in place . it can work like that but it was so loose that i would have to add more layers to hold the coil in place .

with a usps claim...

shipper needs to go to his usps branch and file out a claims form. itll need to have your info, his info, documentation about the value of the item, and if possible a paypal receipt of what you paid for it. they will take that paperwork, stamp it, and send it to the claims people.

you'll need to go to your local usps branch with the sub and its original packaging and fill out a damage repot. youll also want to include the insurance mailing number, which will be the number on the blue sticker on the package. the green ish sticker is ussually the delivery confiormation number, and the blue ish one is the insurance number. it should be something like letter letter ### ### ### US, assuming its not an international shipment. your branch will take the damaged woofer and package and give you a reciept. they'll combine his claim info with your damage report and within about a month they'll either write off a check, or tell you guys that its teh shippers fault for being a stupid **** for not packaging this heavy fragile item better. if the package looks like it was packaged well and is still damaged, you'll porbably get a check from usps.

when the shipper fills out the claim fornm they have an option to choose who recieves payment, you or him....hopefully if he gets the $$ he send it to you. if it looks like the undamaged parts or unusable the go for the full refund. last time i had to do a usps claim it took about 3 weeks to get a check.

hope this helps.
