Use 1 amp or 2 for this system?

SQ system.

MB QUART QSC216 6.5" = 150 Watts RMS each speaker (300 total)

JL Audio 12W6V2 = 400 Watts RMS (500 would be nice)

1st thought - hit this with a JL 300/4 for the fronts and a JL 500/1 for the sub

2nd thought - is there a clean way to power this system with only one amp?

Not sure what amp would do that well...would save me some $ and space maybe.

You'd be better off with 2 amps

Oh yea, f the slash series amps, over priced and not the most efficient

yes, there are one amp options out there. u will need a 4 channel amp, a strong one. it would assumably do 200x4 @ 4 ohms, then u can bridge the rear two channels to the sub for the 400 @ 2 ohms if its a dvc 4 ohm sub. so there are options out there for that, but i would personally jsut do two amps.

If you bridge a 2/4 channel amp most of the time it will be at a 4 ohm load, not 2ohms.

He was trying to explain that most 2/4 channel amplifiera are not 2 ohm stable when bridged...

There are many 5 channel amplifiers out there that will suit your needs, just depends on what you want to spend..

Kicker 850.4 might work.

a soundstream vga800.5 would give you 200x2 and 400x1 if you can find one
