Usamps tour afterthoughts and videos

Oh...and not to rant...
But when you look at dealer pricing on USamps and some other CEA2006 rated amps...you can get TRUE RATED POWER amps for the same cost if not less than the XT's.

Then, you can pass those savings on to your consumers.

They will have a superior amp and the same or less of a hit to their wallet!
I dont know what to say about the pricing....but usamps/re is sure moving a lot of stock.

Sure...non-knowing consumers will bite on a "4000w" amp, but any decent shop SHOULD inform their customers. If you work at a shop and do not...I would be ashamed.

I get tired of people coming in talking about this and that place told them its ok to run 3000w+ on stock electrical.

Alot of people will believe the first thing the first shop they go to tells them.

It is the shops/companies like this that are hurting the 12V industry as a whole.

You would be amazed how many people I seen w/ fried Earthquake amps. (as well as other brands that rate like this) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I feel sorry for the customers that have this happen to them. Hell, I used to be one...as were most of you at one time.
i share your feelings in on this point. which is why again, i commend you for telling the truth //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Totally agree with that... that is part of the reason I'm reluctant to do anything bigger than my 3000D... 99% of the market can't supply the current to that model as it is, much less a bigger one.

It is very difficult to compete with accurate ratings... I don't plan to change, but I hear it all the time.
My B&M dealers will sometimes comment that "brand x" 100x2 amp costs less than my SAX-100.2 -- but the SAX-100.2 does it's power at 12.8 volts (less, even).

Then... cheap companies will write "800 watts" on their amp that does 100 x 2 @ 14.4 volts -- so they think it does twice what the SAX-100.2 does bridged. When, in reality, it probably does 2/3 or less in real life in an actual car.

It's tough to convince many customers... and even many shop owners of this. Simply due to the way the market it. I'm a small company I don't have to grow 100% sales every year to stay in business... I can afford to rate my stuff the way I want it. I plan to stay that way too as long as I can pay the bills //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif If I can't pay the bills and sell an honest product I'll move to a different industry rather than going the route of lying to customers.

I understand why US Amps did what they did... doesn't mean I like it or agree with it. But, the guy is right... customers will often buy the big number with cheap price regardless of what they are told by their dealer.
thank you jacob for chiming in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i was hoping you would say something.

edit: its good to get a perspective the other end.

I still think you should do a 10,000D or 20,000D and knock Kicker and Rockford Fosgate down a bit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Don't expect anything like that anytime soon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif To be honest, I need to do more *smaller* amps. I get more inquiries from B&M dealers about smaller multi-channels than just about anything. You would never guess from the net' forums where everyone wants to run 5000 watts to each woofer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yea, I definitely would not have guessed that. I guess thats why you have the SAE-50.4 and SAE-75.2 on tap. I am also glad to see where you stand on this issue, I love my amps and would hate to see the quality diminish in any way.

I still want to see the photos. I'm saddened to hear of the business practices, but at least they are telling how they are doing it. I have had numerous U.S. Amps, and loved them (even bought one off of flakko). Sounds like they are getting close to main stream, which isn't what I want out of an amp company (which is why I use Tru and will use Sundown next) as I prefer the personal touch. I like being able to call Tru up and talk to one of the guys and them give me info about my specific amp (and by that I don't mean model, I mean serial numbered exact one).

Good information either way.

EDIT: Just re-watched the video. I really understand what he is saying now. He is saying that they are trying to sell apples-to-apples.

Much like when AMD stopped calling an XP processor a 2.0 and changed it to 3000+. Why? Because if they didn't no one would buy the AMD processor even though it was just as fast as the 3.0ghz. U.S. amps is trying to make it an even playing field.

I mean, I have seen on here before people talking about why would someone spend 1,000 dollars on a 35X2 amp when they can get a 100X4 amp for far less.

Its smart from a business stand point even if I dont agree with it. This is why you should be a smart consumer and do your research before buying. Even though U.S. amps puts out the overrated ratings, I know that you can find the true ratings over on SSA.

I dunno.....at one point he does a sob story about how they face such challenges against other competitors and customers just want to buy low-end products.

Then he turns around and says the company has been growing over 100% per year.

I would rather have maybe given up some growth/sales and kept a little integrity. There is no way I could look at things with that approach, no matter what the market is "demanding".

But.....it's their business and they can run it the way they please.

While i don't agree with the practice. It is defeseable. I commend him for his forthrightness, and bluntness. I wish a major manufacturer would go out of their way to actually educate the buying public.
