Is this fixable? Guess im going to have to talk to Greg I am assuming?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Looks like that black wire is your problem.... got stripped and shorted. Probably from vibrations. Did you mount this on the box?
uhh.. i don't think so. the jacket on 8ga doesn't just "strip from vibrations"..

that looks like it happened during the BBQ.

I initially thought the same thing but definitely appears it was roasted and not the cause. The wire tie looks to be somewhat intact to where it was attached. An no I have it on a amp rack separate from the box.

What is dB-r?

Why would it cook right there next to the clips, where it is closest then? Blowing rail transistors will not cause that heavy guage wire to melt, however that wire shorting out will cause transistors to blow.

then it's likely that the heat on the OUTside of the wire caused it to melt FROM the outside.

not "strip".

Sad to see such a nice amp toasty //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
Tell me about it. Ive always been quite scared to think about if the amp broke how I would get it fixed and or justify spending money on it. Such an old amp...Id shit if it were $500 to fix...
