JL vs. Diamond (Amp)

Direct comparison between: JL 300/2 & Diamond D1 250.2

I currently have both.

Both are relatively solid companies. The JL is a higher end in the JL line, whereas the Diamond is Diamond's entry level.

They would be used to push Focal 165vb's (70rms 140peak)

The Diamond contributes 75 per side/ the JL contributes 150 per side.

My main question is, will the JL have any benefit besides head room? Will the cleaner signal be audibly noticeable?

The winner will become semi-permanent. The loser will be sold.

That's double the power for the JL (so a 3dB increase technically speaking); I'd go with the JL and push the entire 150w - component speakers are rated modestly. You'll never see a full 150w while listening to music anyways.
