US Amps vs Zapco ?

As you may know I am redoing my entire speaker setup. While doing this I am also looking for a crossover. In doing so I ran across a Zapco Corssover, so I asked the owner a few questions. In his response I once again heard... "Zapco is better the US amps as far as amplifiers goes." Now I went with US Amps, because I was able to find 4 amps that all look the same, in the specific watt ranges I needed. It was a lot harder to do with Zapco. This is why I did not do Zapco. But I hear enough that Zapco is better, that I have many times considered buying a Reference amp to test it against my Us Amps to see if I messed up. Has anyone heard the two and could say why one is better? I personally really like my US Amps, so this is not crucial... but I always have this question in the back of my mind.

Cool, buy all the Zapco equivalent amps in terms of power and then go collect your $10 G's from RC! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif BTW, If I was God I would eliminate the word "better" from the English language.

They are both superb amps. Zapco is known for great performance in every division of their amps. Not to sure about US Amps reference amps such as four channels and such but i know their subwoofer amps sure do kick ***

I have been to several local shows in michigan, even though it's been a while but never the less I am owner of three us amps the 2000x, 4300x, 200x I have heard Zapco head to head with UsAmps and I could'nt tell ya the difference other then I still have some money left in my bank account after my purchase's!

Last I heard (in my lowly install day's) was that UsAmps was sold?? and no longer hand made?? But from what I have read on here "Flakka" is the man to check with!

Yes I know Flakko very well. Have known him about a year now.

Although I never ran US Amps and I'm sure they are great amps, but my vote would be Zapco. I like the symbilink feature and ability to control my 9.0 via the VFD from the dash. The new DC Reference line has a lot of control ability as well (including dash control via the DRC-SL) and would eliminate the need for the external xovers.

If we are talking about the old school US Amps then it is hands down, US Amps. But their newer stuff does not appear to be as clean. I have never compared their newer stuff to Zapco.

Well not sure what qualifies as Old school but here are the ones I have. 3 not yet installed, 1 installed.

the dc;s are awesome. i absolutly love mine. my other systems sound sort of flat now after listening to the dc's. the c2ks are out of this world. a c2k will piss on us amps, and the c2k with zapcos dsp is just plain pimp shit.

I am sure, but way too expensive for my budget.

Not to sure about this comment. I might agree with you on the lower line (I.E. Xterminator, still great amps tho). Put ur c2k's up against the AX series. I high doubt they will be able to "piss" on US amps after that.

don't you go to eca and read how like 10 different guys can tell the difference from even a Tru tech amp with BB vs. a Tru Tech amp without:rolleyes: . I still find it ironic that people say they here an audible difference in the same wattage level from one amp to another. i've heard a difference when the power is different.

on the amp question, us amps

I haven't heard any US amps yet, but I'd be inclined to believe that Symbilink alone makes Zapco more desireable. And yeah, the C2K-2.5x I'm using right now sounds incredible that's a little more of a boost in their direction
