I have an oldschool usa-400. It's a class a/b amp, so it does draw a lot of current. It also heats up quick, running at 1 ohm stereo.

We don't even want to discuss how fast it heats up at 1 ohm bridged, lol. That's expected though, it's a 2-channel.

Nope. This amp does 1040 (rated) at 1 ohm stereo or 2 ohm bridged. The older amps were rated different.

and I disagree you CAN here the addeed control of an A/B on you subwoofer crossed at 80hz vs a D. other factors involved of course, but you need a upgraded alt and a big battery as they do like current

I guess mine was different then, Mine was from 96 and I dont remember it putting out that power.

Mine is from 97 or 98, something like that. I still have the manual and I got some of the original magazine ads for it. The newer usa-400's were rated at a lower ohm rating. Mine is rated to do 400 at 4 ohms.
