Nope. This amp does 1040 (rated) at 1 ohm stereo or 2 ohm bridged. The older amps were rated different.You are only giving them 200watts each, thats why the amp runs hot...

Mine is from 97 or 98, something like that. I still have the manual and I got some of the original magazine ads for it. The newer usa-400's were rated at a lower ohm rating.
