US Amps MD3?

2400+ is no problem from the MD3. I am actually able to pull slightly over 5000 watts with a pair strapped at 1.2 ohms actual impedance (.6 ohms each).

They are nice amps.

If money is not an issue, how about an IA 40.1?

I have owned the Lanzar OPTI4000D/SoundStream XXX-6500. They are sick amps. I ran my (4) AA 15's on one for 6 months without any problems.

Holy crap, that is a big difference and your project looks serious.

Actually, we did not pull crap at texas heat wave. I bought dual 2 ohm subs, and they are running around 4.8 ohms per coil in the box. Going to be reconing as dual .7's shortly. We still did 155.8 dB with 8000 watts.

I have some of the amps out to send back due to damage by UPS, so I have a pair strapped to all 4 coils (1.2 ohms measured) to see what they would do. With 13.5 volts on the batteries, I can maintain 78.x volts on the outputs playing a 48 Hz tone. I need to get a ameter and verify current, but if the subs are truely 1.2 ohms and the voltage is 78 volts, ohms law is still ohms law.

the mmats amp i had was a 1998-1999 model i cant remember the model number but it did like 2k at 1ohm and it overhearted alot off some earthquake subs i had at the time, both were installed by authorized dealers, back before i installed my own stuff. I havent touched any of thier stuff since then so honestly it could be totally different

Man, that sucks...it's gonna be awhile before I buy it though. It's tough buying all of this expensive stuff while being a Sr. in highschool, but so worth it in the end.
