US Acoustics

US Acoustics class A/B amps are sadly hit or miss... I owned two USX 2080's, the first didnt have any noise issues and sounded great, but the first hot day of summer, it went into protection and never came out, that was after owning it all through fall and winter without problems. I figured it was just a fluke so I got a second one and this one was horribly noisey. I only paid I think $60 each so no huge deal. I said f-it and splurged on a nice eclipse amp, still going strong to this day. I also owned a USX-800D (class D sub amp), and never had a problem with it, great amp, granted it was not cheap and I wouldnt even consider it a budget amp, it was a tank, also still going strong to this day.

Well, i've been doing some reading on the usx series amps and it seems like a lot of people have some noise issues like the one you are describing. I would just do everything you can to make sure your RCA's are up to par. I just bid on a usx4085 and am hoping that i wont run into this problem.

well i do know my rcas are pretty cheap. I just never bothered to upgrade them cuz people told me it was a waste. I gess I will look into it but play around with it for a while to see if i can fix it and then I will look into some new rcas maybe stinger. BUT enuff of the regular speaker talk, Im Getting my SE TOMORROW!!

Little update. I was playing around with the settings while in a parking lot and I achieved some pretty good sound. Even tho right now the HU is faded to -4 cuz the comps can get pretty loud and harsh, everything else is good. Even tho they are small and cheap comps I got them to sound clear and hitting some decent midbass. I actually felt them do some minor rattlin by themselves with the subs off lol. Well Ima keep working on that hissing problem but right now it isnt too much of a problem because the comps are loud as hell and I cant even hear it when Im listening to music.

I used to have a US Acoustics amp and it would hiss through my boston acoustics speakers. Now I have a PPI amp and the sound was so much clearer and there was no hissing. I think it just depends on how well the amp is made. When I had Alpine amps there was only a little hissing compared to the US Acoustics but it was still there.

What are your gains set at? (I didn't see it posted.) I've had the older USX Usacoustics amps and they were fine once the gains were set properly. But that's true of many amps.

Also, I don't know if the USC (newest) versions are having problems or not. But the older ones worked well for me.

I'd say it's a faulty ground, but I'm not really sure.
maybe. I will turn it down to 1/2 then. I just thought it would be better to give the speakers the rms they are rated at. I gess i kinda contradict myself when I fade the channel to the rear. its at -5 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif
