For real. He is always making threads about some sort of ticket or something about his POS cop car look a like. I guess it dont help ya much. You got caught for racing, plain and simple. Now pay the fine, get the points and go about your bussiness. See you in anohter month or so with another thread about ***********OMG I GOT ANOTHER TICKET, HELP ASAP!********************

Usually it dont. But I am sure you are paying out the *** anyway. What is that 3 tickets in a year? So that is most likely at least 6 pts on your DL. I know in ohio you only got to 12 then your lose your DL for up to 6 months. If you are caught for street racing and they do put it on your record, then your looking at 4 pts for that one. That would be 10 pts if you lived in Ohio. Just try and take some comunity service or classes for driving. Then again, I just really dont see you learning anytime soon.

Dam, that would ****. Good thing I dont live there, lol! I used to drive like an *** and had 10 pts on my DL about 4 years ago. Now I have learned my lesson. I am down to 0 pts on my DL and 2 pts on my insurance. I havent had a ticket in 4 plus years. I was stupid just like this kid.

So kid take some constructive critiscim and learn from it.

when i first started driving, i got some tickets.

a failure to yield, my fault

60 in a 35, me being a stupid kid.

now i get pulled over for the stupidest shit even though I try to drive good. slid through a stop sign in a foot of snow, having an air freshener hanging from my mirror. turning left out of a parking lot where EVERY exist was right turn only but i didn't need to turn right, i needed to turn left.

Same here in Arizona. Automatic 6 month suspension, and they slap 8 points on your license. Usually, it is cut and dry where there is no lowering of sentences because they have had a few pedestrian fatalities the last few years as a result of street racing.

The story was basically this

Some guy got pulled over for speeding or some minor thing, and while he was sitting in his car waiting for the cop to come back he called 911 from his cell phone and said that there was a shooting going on a couple blocks down the road and needed help ASAP, well it seems like a good idea right? get the cop to drop the ticket and run to a real emergency, the only problem is the cop heard the guy talking on his cell phone about a shooting and then heard it over the police radio like 3 minutes later and he got busted for calling in a false claim, AND got his speeding ticket

As mentioned in the previous posts, you are very lucky your car didnt get impounded and you went to jail. He doesnt need a radar or laser to testify to street racing. All he needs to say is he observed you in a contest of speed with another vehicle, done deal.

I would tend to agree with this since he didn't even clock you with the radar gun.
These days though a cop can pull you over on the highway for speeding and if you were going around 15 to 20 over it then becomes his discretion if he wants to write you up for "reckless driving" instead of speeding. Its all a bunch of BS but in Michigan they have that authority.

The specific infraction wasn't written up as speeding. It was for street racing (In Louisiana I iirc the actual violation is termed as "Exhibition of Speed") and doesn't require the reading from a velocity detection device. There being no radar gun readout provided for this case is immaterial.

Get an attorney definitely... without the speed being on the ticket from the radar you might have a chance.

Ask to see radar recordings and dash cam (if available in your area) to prove that you were ''racing''. I don't believe they'll ticket you for racing if you're doing the speed limit. Also if there is no video they wont see you fly up on a ricer, instead you ''thought it was a friend passing by so you scooted up for a closer look". If he was 200+ yards back it's hard to determine you were racing. Basically try to be a manipulative *******. That's an interesting thought but I wouldn't suggest attempting it in court...

Well i cant afford a lawyer guys, they want a grand to do my case and its a grand i dont have. so basically im going to go and represent myself and tell the judge that my intent wasent to race, that i just wanted to get ahead of the car to get infront of him because there was a line of cars and i needed to turn off soon, and tell him that i dont have any major violations on my record, its my first time in a courtroom, and ill do whatever he needs me to do if he'll just keep it off my record for insurance purposes, ill take a driving class, ill do as much community service as he needs, ill pay the full fine.. anything

a. should've slowed down to make the turn(or actually not even caught up to the guy in the first place)

and B. you should've been paying more attention to what you were doing, hence you should've known your turn was coming up.

not to mention the fact that the cop was 200 yards behind you, and the time it took him to catch up, your turn would've come by now....

if you're going to lie, i think the best one available is the "i thought i knew the person so i was catching up to see if it was him" but even then, you're still admitting to breaking the law.

I wasent catching up to him, i looked in my rearview and this ricer comes flying up behind me and i see him switch lanes to come past me and i nail it and we stay even for like 40 yards then i pull on him and then i see a cop pull out

Also at the time i told the cop that i was just trying to turn off, i dont know if that matters or not, like if he writes down what you said when he comes to your window to get your license / reg, or if he wont remember for changing storys
