Urgent! Got a ticket, need help ASAP!

Alright before i start, this is a serious situation so if you could please keep all the off topic / jokes out of this thread and give me genuine assistance.

Basically im going to layt it out for you in plain daylight.

My current driving record consists of two Tickets,

1) Speeding ticket for going 85 in a 65

2) Ticket for running a redlight ( it was yellow and i tried to make it )

Tonight i got a ticket for street racing , it wasent a real race.. meaning i didnt jack the gas from a stop and light em up and go 90 down the road, i was cruising down the road going about 35 and this ricer comes up next 2 me and he guns it so i gun it to, we go from about 35 to 48 - 50 then stop and i see a cop in my rearview, he dosent turn on his blues or anything he casually drives up behind my car and then turns them on, we were going 50 and the speed limit in the zone is 35

The cop did NOT right a speed on the ticket, nor did my radar detector go off, he just put down street racing, no speed , no nothing.. it has a mandatory court date on it, no other BS

Basically whats my situtation looking at? I was nice about it to the cop even though he was kind of a dick to me.. Will getting an attorney for the court date help at all? do you think i could get it reduced to a speeding ticket or something? basically what can i do

Unfortunately COPS today have too much authority. In this day and age if HE decides you were doing something it becomes concrete. It is his word against yours and the court will side with him. It sucks but that is the way it is and also the reason so many people (including myself) hate fucking cops.

I would tend to agree with this since he didn't even clock you with the radar gun.

These days though a cop can pull you over on the highway for speeding and if you were going around 15 to 20 over it then becomes his discretion if he wants to write you up for "reckless driving" instead of speeding. Its all a bunch of BS but in Michigan they have that authority.

Look up the law you broke to see exactly what "street racing" is. The 'code' for the law should be on the ticket.

I'm also not sure of the laws in your state, but in colorado they impound your car until your court appearence. If you are found guilty then you don't get your car back. It goes to auction. Even if you are making payments on it.
