You know, a flat tax based on sales tax would eliminate a lot of the problems discussed here. 'Illegals' buy stuff here, just like the rest of us. The tax they 'skip out on' is income taxes, since they are payed under the table. Welfare moms buy stuff too, so a flat sales tax would affect them equally. Poor people buy less stuff, and rich people buy more stuff, so the arguments over the rich people getting tax breaks would also become a much smaller issue. But our government likes having such a complex tax system to keep the majority of people ignorant to exactly how much they pay in taxes every year.

As for the race related replies here, I dont have a problem with them, so long as you guys keep the discussion mature and respectful. If that does not occur here, I will have to break out the 'this is why we cant have nice things' comment, start deleting replies, and possibly handing out infractions and/or bans. So please guys, keep your comments within reason. Thankyou.

What does history have to do with people entering and living in this country illegally? If you want to allow open borders, that is one thing. But I find it impossible to make a valid argument that someone should be able to do this, and turn a profit off of a societal infrastructure and economy that 'legal' residents have paid to create and maintain. I dont want to exclude anyone who can contribute to our society. But I dont want people to be able to live off the sweat of other people's labor here either. It seems 'fair' is a pretty straight forward thing in this regard, and is only complicated in the 'illegal immigrant' arguments in this country when people try to interject emotion and guilt trips into the discussion.
