yep, also reversed speaker leads, used a y splitter. today i removed the splitter and it improved some, corrected speaker leads but i still have to max out bass boost (i know that you are NOT to use b boost) maybe i'll take it back or might fry it. looks good on the inside though.

Did you measure voltage at the amp inputs or just assume it's good because it turned on? Did you try a different RCA?

Prob just a defective amp like others stated. I've always had good luck with Kicker amps, mainly ran the kx and zx series but they always performed. ***** still have the zx300 in my wife's car and that little thing is a monster, been running it for the past 3+ years. no, i didn't don't have anything to test with. odd thing is it's working better now. so i guess i keep the weekend and take it back monday, recoup, and try again. like i said, it's doing better but not as good as the apsm1300, i had gain on it at less than half and no bass boost at all, maybe i'll get the ap1500d it'll do 950wrms at 2ohms.

now it souinds like it should, 'a break in' for an amp? now i will adjust everything down to see if it stays or goes back.

my sub is d4, so i need power @ 2ohms, would like between 800-1000wrms with 100amp or less fusing with 4g pos & neg. the a/p was ok just wanted lil more power, sub is 800wrms, was thinking 1000wrms would be great?

The power gains there arent enough to notice a difference in loudness. The only upgrade to be had is in quality.

thats what i wanted, a more reliable and efficient amp, when the kicker first went in, it did nothing the only way to tell if sub was playing was to put my hand on it. like i said, it's doing ok right now, wasn't expecting a big difference in output, but as you said a step-up in quality.

It has an input voltage select switch. Perhaps it in the wrong position. I never have to turn those over half way up to get full power. They do a ton of power.

if u have a dmm put it on it see how much voltage its putting out 2ohms for a 1000 watts should be 44.7v or there abouts.

just to add... make sure when you do this, it's on a test tone of 50 hz
