I would agree that the foam would have been a better shipping method, but ****, how far up was it dropped from to shatter the basket and snap 3 2x4's. I don't care who's fault it was, as long as I get either:

#1 A comparable 18" subwoofer or,

#2 Enough cash to buy a comparable 18" subwoofer

FYI: I didn't get this sub from Fi, they have a standard packaging. This subwoofer was bought from an individual. It's actually a XXX with Fi softparts.

If UPS says it's the seller's fault, he's already agreed to buy me a new basket and recone kit for it, and I'll rebuild it. Good guy, he's taking care of business.

No matter what UPS tells you- keep fighting it. No matter how you package something it should no be dropped enough to break 2x4s.

Anyone here ever talk to a UPS employee? They tend to be proud of how the throw packages and drop kick them. Just a bunch of underpaid school kids to pissed at life to care.

On the bottom, it says you should not be able read this. lol

Yeah definatly used foam. Fi's shipping crates are pretty simple, but they work great. Sometimes You can go a little crazy with the wood. Hell look how soundsplinter ships their subs...In cardboard molds. And I dont ever recall seing a soundsplinter sub get destroyed from the factory to a customer.
