UPS and Fedex on same ay woot.

Without further delay here are more pix and 1 video. I have one more video but google is taking forever to process it. My trunk isn't finished yet, I know. So it may look ghetto to some. I have to lay the bottom back down and screen around the amp rack.

Howd you build the box for the mag. Looks great would love to do something like that. Me and my friend might be doin that with his audio A8 but with one on each side.

What Deadening is that?
Fat Mat. Was cheap and does the trick. I double layered it in the trunk. Single layer in the main cab area. I only did 1 layer in cab because the GTO actually came with a rather thick layer of spray on rubber sound insulator on both passenger and driver side of the floor, instead of that ratty cloth shit.

OK quick overview comparison of the mag to my MK1 Brahma.

SQ goes to Mag. It exhibited a much flatter response than the Brahma. Wasn't note heavy anywhere. Throwing test tones from 30-80 in 10hz increments exhibited no real difference in volume. 20 was audible but struggling.

SPL goes to Brahma. My Brahma was louder but only in the 30-40 region. The Brahma was actually a bit to strong in this region for me and made me use at least -2 @ 45 to tone its response down here.

To me the clear win goes to Mag. I value SQ over SPL any day of the week. As a daily driver and non spl competitor thats where I need it. The Brahma is still a great SQL driver and many others may appreciate its sound better. I listen to a VERY wide range of music and a sub that blends is much more important.

I am very happy with the choices I made. I know money could have been saved in the amp department. Hell I could have even got more power for the price and gone with a Belle. In the end though I love this amp. I have always been a fanboi of RF amps from back in the day and while overpriced, the new power series amps are nothing to laugh at. Being a limited anniversary edition is just a little extra icing for me.

For reference the enclosure is 2 cu ft tuned to 32 hz.

how does it sound since the trunk is all sealed off?
In the GTO the stock 6" subs were in the rear deck. I removed these and made sure to leave plenty of air space around the rack for waves to flow through to the cabin through these openings left. I will be using screen to hide the ugliness around the rack while maintaing sonic transparency. So it does sound good and plenty lod for me. Of course it will never be qite like a hatch or SUV, but works for me.

Because RF has never used chrome before, right?

And these RF amps were produced years before there ever was an A-bahn!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif :D //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
