upgrading the inside of an amp

I have a couple of amps in need of some repairs. Small repairs I am sure, one still gives sound. But its static sounding.

Any how, if I am going to repair them, what are the chance of "upgrading" parts? I though if this can be done to CB amps, is it possible to step the power up a little with stereo amps.

The amps are kicker 600.4. Now I don't wanna rebuild the entire thing. Just give them a little kick in the pants.

No, you cant swap out other parts that do the real work such as FET's with different ones because you'd have to change the design of the whole motherboard. However, some parts can be upgraded such as resistors on the FET's (you can switch out the 1/4 watts to 1/2 watts" so they can take more abuse (since the 1/2 watters are about 3 times as large as the 1/4 watters). But other then that, there isnt much you can do within reason.

If you want some stuff fixed, I highly suggest db-r.com
