Upgrading stock audio

First off i want to say hey, im new to this thread in particular

im driving an 06 v6 Honda Accord coupe

anyway im looking to upgrade my stock audio and ive done some research already but the guy at the local audio store recommended JL 12w3v3's which im pretty sure im gonna go with, and im also gonna get new speakers that are in the back under the rear window because i blew them with too much bass (hence the purchasing of a sub lol) im not sure about the tweeters or the door speakers yet

ive got a couple questions tho. im planning on installing the speakers at home so what kind of stuff do i need for that other than basic tools and the speakers

the second question for now is the guy also quoted me for a JL a1200 amp which is a full range amp which im pretty sure isnt gonna do right if its hooked up to a sub, am i right???
