Upgrading speakers, 6.5"

Hi I have a ford ED Falcon and am looking to upgrade my speaker system. Currently have clarion something speakers in the front (run off the head unit) and a cadence sub in the back with amp (cheap one). Looking to upgrade my speakers and run them through amps and also a better sub. What do people recommend (I know this is not the subwoofer section so mainly the speakers but if you have any suggestions on subs that would be great as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif )

Basicly my goal is just to enjoy music haha get crisp treble and deep base that work well together to out put the best sound... Hard to explain, not interested in audio competitions or show car quality but great sound... As for budget, fairly large, don't want cheap stuff. You get what you pay for //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif having said that cap it at a max of probably $4kAUD

I am only running front speakers and a sub at the moment, back speakers are redundant. Attempting to have a "stage" in the front of the car and distinguish between the vocalist and instruments. My new pioneer avh-250BT headunit has made a huge difference to sound quality with crossover and time delay, just looking to go that step further.

Well $4kAUD is about $3k US, so that opens a lot of options. Are you looking for Coaxial or Components? everything in audio is relative to each user and their preferences, personally i always suggest to try to hear locally and find what you really like. Do you have locally brands like Hertz, Focal, Morel, Dynaudio?

Hi first off thanks for the reply, as for those brands yes they are available in Australia.
go for a set of hertz hsk 63. Fiberglass the A pillar to have the 3 inch midrange and tweeter firing straight at your ear. Get a nice hertz/audison/JL/rockford amp to fully power them and you should notice a much better increase. Eventually you'll want an 8 channel DSP and run active individually powering and crossing over and time aligning each speaker, mid, midbass to create that wonderful stage and imaging thats necessary to sound amazing.

You'll need to turn your car door into a speaker enclosure if you want any midbass(which really brings the stage to life) Seal off all the gaps and holes and deaden the doors. Also, the more road noise you block out, the more perceived sound quality you get with your ears with less noise (from the road, engine, other drivers etc..) interfering, which gets you closer to being in a quiet listening room. This means much more clarity and details will be heard.

Sound quality is all in the install
