Upgrading Speaker Wire- Worth it?

Just curious if upgrading speaker wire from the amp to the subs would be worth it in my case. I have 16ga wire to my subs right now but I can get 12ga fairly cheap. Some people that I've talked to say it wont make any difference and it'd be just a waste of my time to get it, although before I brush it off and not consider upgrading I figured I'd as people that actually know what theyre talking about.

Right now I'm only running one m650 amp to alpine type-r 12's but I'll be upgrading that pretty soon, not sure to what though but either way I know I'll be needing more power.

Thanks

If you have an old car then yes it can make a difference. My 93 jeep grand cherokee sounded completely different when I upgraded the wire to the doors. Then again its oem wiring had seen better days.

If it's a newer car and you're pushing

In the future it would be greatly appreciated if you'd actually read the post you're replying to prior to responding, okay? Thanks.

To Ominous Wanderer ~

Raven hit it on the nose in your particular case. It certainly won't hurt but you'll not gain any audible performance increase by doing so.
