Well, my wife has a 2003 Navigator and she is finally letting me do something with the audio. She still doesn't want any amps or enclosures though. Hopefully, soon I can get to that. It's been hard enough to convince her to let me take the doors apart. LOL!
Anyway, I believe the OEM speakers are 5x7/6x8 on all doors and an 8" sub in the rear. Now, I am not sure there is a one amp for all speakers or just the sub. I haven't taken anything apart yet.
I was thinking of adding some decent 6x8 all around, or should I go with some decent 6.5" components with custom mounting plates for the 6x8 openings?
Another thing, the rear is an 8" sub but I have no idea on the depth. As I said, I haven't removed anything yet. I want to make sure that I am going to upgrade before doing so.
So, what would a nice 8" driver like an Assassin, 8W0, etc work best? I am not sure on how many watts the OEM driver is getting.
Another side note is that I am not sure if all speakers are 4-ohm or 8-ohm.
I just really want to know if the overall ouput will change for the better by simply just changing to better aftermarket speakers/sub by still using the OEM system.
