Ok i got a lil scraper the other day, problem is that the speakers dont work, im not looking to put in subs or nothin, im just tryin to upgrade the speakers and get a lil cd player. Anybody got any suggestions on some good 6x9's? I also need some speakers fo the front dash it got them lil 4 inch openings. Should i get an amp if i want to get them speakers? Also what kinda amp do it need to be 2 chanell or 4 channel if i gots 2 sets of speakers?

first off, if you get 2 sets of speakers you will need a 4 channel amp. the way it works is that 1 channel will go to each speaker, so if you have 4 speakers you need a 4 channel amp. if you have componet speakers, which has a tweeter and a speaker, they still run as 1 single speaker, so 2 componets speakers and 2 6x9's speakers will still require a 4 channel amp.

Now as for 6x9's...it depends on how much money you want to spend. A good expensive brand of 6x9's are the MB Quarts, I can't remember the model # right off the top of my head, they will run anywhere from $900 to $1500 depending on where you get them from. Another brand that isn't as expensive is the Boston Acoutic nx97. They retail for about $200, but you probably can find them cheaper on the net somewhere. I have a set of these and they are wonderful! I would highly recommend these if you are looking for a nice pair of speakers at a reasonable price. BA makes very good quailty products. They can handle a lot more power then is recommended.

Well, the fact that you bought a "lil scrapper" that has speakers that don't work make me think that you're not on a budget to spend $1500 on 6x9s. Goto a local car audio places and listen to there speakers, then check http://www.thezeb.com or http://www.etronics.com for prices, they will be much cheaper than at the retail places. I have Sony 6x9s and I hate them, so I'd say no to sony. I have JL Audio 3.5", which I love. As for headunit, a budget really helps.

thanx for the replies i still got 1 more question:

im lookin at these pioneer 6x9's that look coo and they are like 70 bucks Pioneer TS-A6995. It says the RMS power of them is 80 watts, so would that mean i would need to get a 2 channel amp that gives 40W x2 rms or would i need one that is 80w x2 rms, im confuzed.

I have Pioneer 3 way 6x9's I love them, They are amped on a 80RMS amp, and I hear the finest high pitched toonz on some of Linkin Parks cd, VERY nice, for I think 120 or 130 bucks they are very nice!
