Upgrading front speakers

Need help in upgrading front speakers. I have Infinity 6012 co-axs now running off an amp with 75 watts rms per channel. The head unit is a pioneer 690ub or an excelon 491, I haven't decided on which head unit I will keep in this car. Most of my music is on a usb flash drive. The car is a Subaru Forester. The speakers depth I'm working with is 2.5 inches. I'm looking for a little more mid bass that is lacking from the Infinities. I will be treating the doors in the next month. My price range is $150-175.

i'd say try the rsd's but they won't fit with a 2.5 mounting depth.

oh yea, i didn't even think about if he was using a baffle or not.

to the OP: you'll want to mount whatever you get onto a solid baffle, not just the metal door panel. the depth on the rsd's is 2.87". so if you use even a .5" baffle you'll be set.

Thas the good thing about older vehicles....flat door panels.....makes it alot easier.

I had to use a 1" plate to fit my speakers....

if you treat your doors the right way you won't have that problem.
