upgrading from cvr's

whats a good pair of 12s that will work well with a 1200wrms at 1 ohm amp. looking for subs that get loud and still sound tight ported. looking at dd 2500 series what are some others. budget isnt too much of a problem just nothing outrageous. my buddy has some money and wants to upgrade from kicker cvrs.

Why not go with a single sub setup? I have a Phoenix Gold Ti12D Elite for sale. It can handle 1200w rms easily.
