Upgrading a H/K Logic 7 system in a Mercedes

I am currently in the last stages of buying a 2012 C350 which comes with a Harmon Kardon Logic7 surround system. I am normally more of an audiophile for my home system and currently have a Meridian system at home and I was wondering if there is anything that can be done to improve the sound of the H/K system that is easy to replace existing components without spending too much money. I am just wondering if anyone has any experience in this area and what I need to do to ensure optimal sound quality.

If you aren't looking to run amps and wires than the stock is probably better than what you would replace them with. They spend alot designing the audio system. If you are just looking to replace the speakers unless they are blown the general concensis is leave it alone.

I have no personal experience with MB but sound deadening can work wonders. RAAMAT can be had pretty reasonably. Even if you just do the flat areas on of the trunk and fender wells can really tone down road noise. I don't know if I will ever not deaden any car I buy after the changes it made in my 370Z. MB probably does a better job of removing the ambient sounds than Nissan so it maybe a mute point for you.

Don't quote me but most "upgraded" systems that come in cars, have a few problems, especially when it comes to upgrading.

most common, but may not be the case for your vehicle (look into it) is that not all speakers get the whole freq range (usually only one speaker sees all freqs)

alot of those factory locations require modification of some sort or another to get different speakers to fit, because the basket on those factory speakers are so small.

if you are truly after that Audiophile sound i would just bypass everything and run an entire new system. if you really want to keep your HU there are many respectable OEM integraton processors that will help keep the sound quality present.
