Upgraded sound system - noise from tweeters

Hi guys,

Thought that someone might be able to help me out here... I own an 07 accord Type S (no Premium Sound System). Keep in mind that I live in the EU (Ireland) so might be a bit different in terms of car designs etc but the story should be same in wirings etc...

Last week, I upgraded all of my speakers, got rear shelf, rear door (which had none), front door and tweets.

I also got separate 4 channel amp to power all those speakers for me and plugged that to the original head unit using two high level inputs converter.

So, I have the power wire running from the battery on the passanger side and the RCA + speaker cables running in the middle of the car.

I am getting a noise from all of my tweets when my level on the 1-2 and 3-4 channels are too high. I have set my gain level to around 20% and the noise stopped, whenever I bring up the level up the noise starts again and the higher I go with gain level, the louder the tweets make the noise.

Since I have my RCA's running on the other side than my 12v, I have grounded my high level inputs in the radio, I'm not sure what else might be causing this noise.

Anyone with similar setup who got a solution?

Thanks in advance!

So coming back now after trying the suggested stickys on this forum.

I have disconnected the RCA's while the radio was on and the noise stopped. I understand this as a ground problem, am I correct?

Since I have two High Level Inputs which both have a ground cable, can you suggest how should I correctly ground my headunit?

I tried grounding the High Level Inputs and RCAs to the chasis ground bolt and also to the head unit frame but did not help.

My gains are at around 20% so I can bearly hear the noise. When I raise the gains I can hear the white noise very clearly and the higher I go with gains, the louder it gets.

The noise does not change when I accelerate. The only time the noise changes is when I increase my headunit volume from 0 to 1 and it's a tiny change. From 1 up it does not change.

Anyone with any ideas?

Could be a bad ground on the amp its self so check that I've had an amp that gave me tons of feed back because of a bad ground I've also had amps that won't work at all if they have a bad ground so it may or may not work but always worth a look

Thanks! It might not be even 20% mark on the amp at all, and even at the mark I have right now I can hear a little noise but I'm just ignoring it for now...

Bad ground on the amp? Even if the problem persists when I disconnect the RCAs from the head unit? I read on this forum that if noise stops when I disconnect RCAs from head unit then it's a ground issue.

My amp is grounded by the same wire that my sub was grounded previously (I didn't install the sub back yet). Back when I just had the sub there were no noises coming from it so I guess the ground on the rear is fine...

Does the thickness of the ground cable matter?

First never ground a speaker to the chassis of a vehicle. Second you want your ground to be the same guage as your main power wire. I would definitely Check your ground make sure the area is bare metal and make sure it is tight

CORRECTION:

Noise comes out of all speakers not just tweets. Tweets are most noticeable at lower gain volume but when I turned the amp up, all speakers had noise coming out...

I tried to ground the head unit directly to the battery minus, head unit chassis and the amp ground point (under rear seatbelt bolt) but still no effect...

there is nothing else I can think of... bad high level inputs?? bad head unit??
