upgraded big3, dimming worse

:crap:
Ok I upgraded the big3 cause I had slight dimming.

I did it with 4 gauge, I know I will have to go bigger now, but at least I know how easy it is to do.

Anyway, I added a wire to the alt to battery using the existing stock distro. block (I guess that's what it is) that the original wire is going to, I plan on fusing it separately with an anl inline (will this help?)

I added to the ground wire and engine to chassis.

In addition to the big three Ive recently built a new enclosure for my 2 e10o's that are being pushed by a tsunami 1800 (

The subs are in about .5 cubes each and they sound awsome and hit hard. I did adjust the gains to corespond to the enclosure size (increase a little) but now my lights dim even worse than before.

It's a 2002 supercrew, 130a alt.

Im also running the tsunami 4440 for components

Let me reply to my own thead,

1.Turn your gains back down that little bit

2.Upgrade your "upgrade" to 1/0 wire

3. TURN DOWN THE VOLUME (yea right)

4. Maybe run thicker than 4 gauge to the amp??? Im petty sure that's what it will accept.

Any other Help would be appreciated......

i've upgraded my wires to 4 gauge in the engine bay, and i get no problem. Such short distances within the engine bay, i'm sure the wires aren't being overloaded.

Sometimes even after an alt upgrade, dimming can occur. Replace batt.

er, if you're trying to route the ground back to the batt, that's quite a lot of wiring to hide and thread around the car. I think that's why people are saying upgrade the big 3.

there is a very simple way to fix this........ undo whatever it is you did in the first place.

Ok I did notice that when driving if I dont play music at the level to make the lights dim for a while then turn up the volume, it takes a few minutes for the lights to start dimming. Could this be the battery going bad or alt not keeping up?

thats what i thought...... but i was thinking about it and when he upgraded and everything to make it better. what he was doing was allow the amp to draw more current which is why the dimming got worse. he needs an alt because it isnt keeping the battery charged. which is ruining his battery also.

I thought that might be what's happening, now the amp is getting what it wants and it's too much for my electrical system. So I need a new alt and a new battery, soon...
