Upgrade question

I currently have two rockford 12" he's and a //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif sony 1000 watt amp and want to upgrade. So my question is would Alpine Type R's be better in the spl and sq category than my he's? Also would a rockford punch 500 push more than my sony amp? I basicall want higher sound quality and a little louder system. I think my setup now hits about 135db.

The Type R's will more than likely beat any of Rockfords woofers in SQ and SPL, besides maybe the T2, in the proper install.

But if you want two of them, id suggest you get an amp that puts out about 1000 watts RMS.

Okay, so i need an amp that puts out atleast a thousand watts. Should I keep my Sony //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif or do u have a suggestion for an amp that I could get off ebay for around 200 bucks?

not at least 1000, just around that area. 800 watts, or even less would push them nicely. What I would do is buy the subs that you want, and test your amp on them. If you like how it sounds, great! If not, you can just buy a new amp.
