Upgrade from 2 15" IDQs?

I currently have 2 15" IDQ subs in 2 1.6 ft^3 boxes. Each sub is getting a little over 500 rms.

I'm thinking of selling my subs and going with a 1 sub setup. Probably 1 12" or 1 15". Needs to be an sq sub. Budget is about $500. Will have 1000 watts rms @ 2 ohms available. Going to use a sealed box.

I don't want to lose any SQ if possible. I don't like boomy or "deep" sounding subs. The sub needs to blend seamlessly with my front stage.

Output needs to be greater than that of 1 15" IDQ with 500 rms. I have a powerful front stage and anything less wouldn't be able to keep up while still sounding clean.

I'm considering a 12" or 15" fi q, but seriously doubt they have the sq the IDQs do.

Any other subs you would recommend?

what about a single ID MAX?
that's one of my top choices, but i just don't know if 1 12" would have the output i need.

I've experimented with my current setup. Listened with both 15s and 1000rms playing, then went to 1 15" with 500rms.

when the 2 are playing they basically "idle". don't have to work very hard at all and sound VERY clean. with just 1, it has to work a lot harder and loses SQ. Whatever i go with needs to have more output than 1 15" IDQ with 500rms.
