The final setup has been drawn up and confirmed for TEAM MSHA's 2003 SPL entry.

1 15" Shocker EXTreme II

2 JBL 1200.1

1 Rewound alternator (was 80a, is 220a now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif)

2 Optima Yellow Top Deepcycle Battery

8 cubic feet wall tuned at 54hz for a peak of 60-64hz (so far testing has shown flat response across this range) with 180 square inches of port.

1 Pioneer DEH-p4400 HU

1 Lanzar Vibe X6 3-way crossover (getting a new one for the truck)

1 Pair of Jensen 6" coax speakers (scored these at wal-mart for $30....who cares what the mids sound like.....this is an SPL car!)

1 Pair of Jensen .5" tweeters (again, a wal-mart special. they actually sound better than the fusion tweeters I use in my truck)

For an investment of less than a grand, I think we actually have a chance at a few trophies this year. As soon as it's finished I'll post pics of the install process and the final result.

Thanks for all the help over the past year, guys. Without you, I wouldn't have had the knowledge to build something I'm so proud of. If I win any trophies, I'm dedicating the first one to CarAudio.com and all the great people who are so willing to share their knowledge and love for our hobby.

What's it going in?

OOPS........forgot that part

It's going in a completely gutted 1991 Eagle Talon. The only thing still stock inside this beast are the seats and dashboard. Everything behind the pillars has been cut out or otherwise removed to make way for sound deadening and the wall.

MECA, of course.

If you go to any shows in the ohio/kentucky/west virginia region, look for a ragged-out looking orange and black talon with primer on the hood bump......if I can find a supplier for custom decals, I'd like to put TEAM MSHA across the hatch in pretty white letters....until then, it's says it in black electrical tape //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm going dB drag this year...

I'd like to compete in other organizations, but everyone I know competes in MECA and it seems there aren't too many other organizations competing within driving distance of my home in Wellston, Ohio.

MECA is the only organization with which I am familiar with the class system, and the only one I know of that uses the Hater Mic (linearX), which is the only one I have access to. The advantage to this is that I can pull up the MECA website at any time, look at the ratings for my class and say "I know I'm doing better than that guy" or "I'll need to come up a little to compete with this guy".

I'm not going to come right out and say what my score is right now because it still needs a little twerking to get it as loud as it can be, but If I were to pull in the lanes right now and play 62HZ, I'd probably have my name on the MECA Ohio state records page //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif......at least according to TEAM H&K's mic.

Same here...I know I can beat most of the Dragers in my area, except for Chad Hines...

My worries are from Team Auto Enhancers locally. Those guys have an iron-fisted grip on the modified class in Ohio. However, I know something they don't........and I'm gonna try to keep it that way until the end of next season //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The more I think about it, the more I'd like to get different amps.......but my money's already invested in the JBL's so I really can't take it back now. A rating 1200w @ 4ohms puts me in M4 which is currently held at 155.9.....a number I think I can beat with a few more weeks of playing around //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've been juggling my amp selection b/t the RE 35-1D and the REVO.
