Update on my project silverado

Yeah I did an Install on a truck almost exactly like that right before I came back down to Baton Rouge for college. Those bolts were a pain. I ended up getting like a 4 foot piece of aluminum pipe and used it for a cheater pipe. You should of seen my boss's face when He saw me "rowing" (thats what it looked like...like rowing a boat) with that pipe He fell on the floor laughing. Anyways nice looking progress Tommy.
All i used was a normal sized breaker bar socket wrench (about 10" long) and thats all it needed to make quick work of that torx bit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I had to use a MONSTER cheater bar to get the u-bolts off the rear axle to get my drop blocks in. It was 5-6 feet long and I looked ridiculous using it.

Should have just cut the old u bolts off. I hope you didn't use the old ones.

If i had the proper tools at the time to cut them off, I would have. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Now I have a nice little air powered cutoff wheel that would make quick work of those u-bolts if I ever need to get another set off. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

And no, I didn't use the old ones. The kit came with new ones. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm hoping to get some more stuff done tomorrow.

and what is it your doing with this? I hope you bag it as they are the easiest in the world to bag lol.
It's a tossup right now.

I'd like to bag it and shave everything, but my dad isn't cooperating with those ideas. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Plus the lack of our own welder would REALLY make these things difficult. As of right now, our main goal is to get it running and cleaned up so I can start using this as my daily driver.

I have that same TNMT towel...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
Haha.

Do you still use it? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

in my caprice it had the same bolts for the seatbelts...i used a hex that would fit nicely in there....no prob at all...Those torx bit tend to brake when i use them so i go that route...

305 ci or 350?

i had a 305 and replaced the intake 2 times and it still leaked from the rear rail both times.. i think we might have warped the manifold removing it the first time..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

its coming along. so did you find that relay that you think is making it not run?
Haha, nope. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

My dad's friend is going to come over with his little computer error code searcher thing and see if it throws out a code first. If that turns up nothing, then I guess I'm going to keep digging. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
