Unsatisfying results with Mag 15"....has to be user error

this is my first install

15" Mag 4.0cubes@30 hz

Sundown SAZ-1500D

cheap *** Pioneer 4600MP with no sub pre-out

I have the RCAs plugged into the rear on the HU

I set my gains so they were 34v with a 60hz test tone at volume 45 out of 62

all I hear are basically vibrations and the sub sounds like its flapping around, I cant really explain it. Its like I can haer it moving but its not making much sound at all.

Anybody help? Im so bummed out I know its not supposed to sound like this.

no sub preout???but you have the rca's plugged into the HU? i'm lost. and im not sure what flapping around is like..

are the voicecoils wired out of phase with each other?

that would cause it to not move much

try just hooking up one voice coil to the amp and see if it moves like it should then

The H/U doesnt have a front, rear, and sub preout; it has a front and rear. it doesnt have a dedicated one for a subwoofer where I can individually control its volume apart from everything else.

he means the there is no sub preout, just rear and fronts, rca is pluged into the rear fill. I say upgrade your headunit and set the crossover to around 80 hz on the amp.

Yeah, it should work. Something is messed up, though. Make sure the fader and balance is set to neutral.

Sounds like somethings wrong with your wiring or amp. I have the 4700MP, and absolutely nothing wrong with it. Great budget cd player.

Check to make sure your VC's are not working against eachother.
