Unported RE SE 10''s

Say I was going to put to SE 10's in a fiberglass enclosure, and say I measured the enclosure and everything, but I didn't port it for SQ reasons.

1. Would this make a difference in the SQ?

2. Will an RE require more fiberglass?

3. Would not porting an RE make buying an RE pointless in the first place?

And for the love of God can someone atleast give one response?

No...........I am running a 12" RE SE sealed and sounds fine to me. I have heard ported enclosures with different subs, not the same sub. So perhaps my opinion is biased.

If you port it, it will still sound great. I never understood people's ranting about ported boxes not sounding good. True, a high tuned prefab ported box will sound like ***.

Port those SEs!!!

Require more fiberglass??? Just make sure its as strong as 3/4" MDF.

1), the sealed box will by nature have more low frequency extension, but the ported box will have better output across the board.

If you can, please port them at 32hz, then thank me.

How would I port an enclosure when one side of the box is molded to the curves of my car?

I know I could just randomly drill a hole somewhere on the fiberglass, but how do I get it right?

Lastly, I'm going for SQ, not SPL.

And I'm pretty sure a sealed SE in this area would be one of the louder subs around.

Best Buy and Wal-Mart are the big hitters out here.
