United States...Inventor of teh Automobile

If your bank doesnt send you a letter showing the interest earned and to be claimed you dont have to worry about it, that is if it is under a certain amount.
There is no reason to have $7g in checking and 1600 in saving, savings should have more, unless you need 7g on a day to day basis lol
x2 on both

Do you really have to claim interest?
Ive made around 500 dollars thus far off my CD. I havnt done anything with it. Just let it build.
Well, "have to" is a matter of opinion //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

But that amount is reported to the IRS by your bank, and as Flip said you'd receive a 1099 for interest earned.

It is a reason for the IRS to reject your taxes when you file.....if your claimed earned income doesn't match what was reported to them as earned income. Also, if the IRS doesn't catch it initially but you're ever audited (unlikely, unless you do something else that catches their attention) you could end up owing the government //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif

originally i put the cash into the savings to see what i would get from it kinda test the waters. when i saw 1 cent and shit like that every month i said **** it, and stopped putting money in. i was gonna transfer the money back into my checking because id rather not get any interest back if its rinky dink amounts like that. its like a slap in the face.

lol, I keep about 10g in savings, and the rest is invested in more lucrative, higher earning futures.

We didn't invent the automobile.
But we did "invent" mass produced automobiles.

So they left out the "mass produced" part? No biggie.

You know what they say......"Close enough for government work"
lol.

I just did this beause people jumped on Bush for the same shit...and Al Gore for claiming to invent the internet, etc.

Believe it or not the idea for the moving assembly line was borrowed for the Chicago Stockyards. Apparently H. Ford saw folks slaughter pigs when the pigs moved along a rail. Each person would chop at it while it moved along...Ford thought he could adopt that idea to car building.

I guess it's more common than I thought. This was a paper or article or something that I read about how innovation is often brought about by adopting ideas developed in a meaningless (relatively) situation and adopting them to a better one. ANother mentioned was apple jacking Xerox's graphical user interface.

Another example from my management class. Maybe he studied those papers, or the author of our book wrote those papers.
