I couldn't agree more and it nauseates me that the film companies are using one of the most tragic events in this country's history to make some jack at the box office. This movie is reprehinsible and disgusting-I will not see 2 seconds of that shit.

I have not seen this flick (and I'm still a bit on the fence as to whether or not I will) but did it ever occur to you that possibly this isn't at all the focus of this movie?

Ostensibly it is a highlight of the heroism displayed by the passengers and crew of the flight once it was general knowledge that the plane had been hijacked.

Like I said - I cannot speak with any degree of authority as I have not seen the movie - but it is supposed to be a shining example of the depth of the human spirit refusing to simply lay down and die.

dalucifer ~ since you have seen it....can you tell us if this is the slant the movie is taking? Are my assumptions correct?

The movie is not about 9/11. It obviously says that planes hit the WTC and a plane hit the pentagon. Other than that, this movie is solely about the flight united 93 and how they fought back against the terrorist. It just displays the heroism of the people that fought back.

I know it isn't about 9/11 (solely) I understand what it is about, I just hate the premise- if nearly all the profits went to a memorial fund or something I might feel differently- but they don't.

I heard 10% of the profit will go to the memorial fund which is a nice thing to put money into a memorial fund for them, but I still refuse to pay any money to see this. I think the people making this film, and profiting from this event so soon after 9/11 are evil people and I will not put a dime into their pockets.

and because of that, I'll probably be sneaking in to watch it next week. lol + add the fact that I am broke right now.

I would feel a bit different if more than 10% on opening weekend went to them, but it is still sick and I'll watch the buttsex scene(s) in brokeback, and like them,before I watch 2 seconds of this peice of crap.
