I have a Kenwood (KDC-MP2035) that I just put in my 1996 camaro. Works great, except for when i turn my car off. The next time I turn it back on, It forgets all of my settings ie. time, bass/mid/treble levels, display info. Anyone know the answer to this off the top of their heads? I'm gonna mess with it today but wanted to get some other input before I do. Thanks in advance for the help.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Battery charge is good....any more ideas? Little more info for ya, my recent wiring harness was cut/ripped from the theifs that took my last cd player. I just hard wired this kenwood. The cd player I just installed still gets power when i shut off my car untill I open my doors like it's suppose to but once i open my doors it completely acts like i disconnected the battery/or the power supply. I ran a 12v receptacle tester on the power wire running into the cd player to see if it still get's a current with the car off and of course it did. Once I get some daylight, i'm gonna check to see if maybe I overlooked another remote/battery wire and have it hooked in the wrong one. I did notice my cigarette lighter wire was ripped out too, I'm thinking that maybe I switched these two wires but don't understand why it still wouldn't work properly since they are basically the same wire. fyi, I took this cd player out of my truck and it worked properly.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

yep, you are losing 12V constant.

After reading your last post, I would check your fuses, the circuit that the cig lighter is on runs off the radio fuse too. In GM, the 12V switched is yellow, the 12V constant is Orange. So depending on the radio (consult your manual) - the yellow battery wire from your radio should be going to an orange wire in the vehicle's radio harness (test with a multimeter first!!!). I am guessing that if the old radio was stolen and wires were cut, then the fuse is bad. The red wire of your aftermarket unit should go to the yellow of the in car harness.

The wire colors I gave you are behind the factory plug. Please test them first to verify function.
