Unique Deck Reccomendation Thread

I hate to start another one of these threads but I did search and couldn't find exactly what I'm looking for. First, I am coming out if a Alpine 9815 so I need something equally as nice. The new deck has to have all of the sound shaping features, active capable, time alignment 3+ Volt RCA's, EQ, etc... iPod connectivity/interface is important. Here's the curve ball: It needs to be able to tilt. The deck is real low in my Tacoma and it's hard to see flushed in. I am really open to anything. By budget is south of $300.

Try to find an Alpine 9835, 9853, or 9855. The 9853 and 9855 don't have the tilt option on the face or the remote like the older one you have/had, but it's in the menu. They've all got 3 way active capabilities, TA, 5 band parametric/7 band graphic EQs. The 9853 has 2 volt pre outs but the others have 4 volt. I love my 9855 I'm using in my truck. I think you can find them on eBay for pretty cheap, at least in your price range.

Oh, lastly, the iPod interface for them isn't the best, but it does offer it. I've got the module for it (KCA-420i). If you end up getting one of these units and want the module, let me know. I'll probably let it go for a good price.

I checked eclipse's website and couldn't find anything that said they have tilt faces.

if you can find one look at the jvc kd-sh1000. it can do everything you listed including a front panel usb port. it will not work with the newer iphone/touch though. it may play them (not too sure) but it won't charge due to their changes.

I guarantee they are tilts...i own one and have seen the 3100, 3200, 5100, 7100 all in person and they all tilt

It will play all iPods, but it will not charge the 2nd generation iPod Touch or the 4th generatio iPod Nano. Apple changed the charging voltage for these 2 models for some reason. Scosche has an adapter that costs about $25 that will fix that for most HUs. As far as I know, there are no issues with the iPhone and charging, at least for the first gen and the 3G. I haven't tried anything with the 3GS yet.

IMO the new Eclipse head units dont compare in SQ to the Alpines.

I switched out an Alpine for a Pioneer and it's way better as far as SQ goes compared to the Alpine I was using. The only Alpine I'd like to try would be the 9887 because it does have that 24 bit DAC. None of the others do.
