unhappy with my cdt hd and cd t 6x9 ??

its been a few years sense this where hooked up i think 2004 but i know for sure the sound was nice n crisp and loud there still in a like new condition in original boxes at that time they were hooked to an orion 800.4 now to the present there in my grand prix the sound is muffled there not loud at all and definitely not crisp there hook to a jlaudio 450/4 im not sure should i buy new components ? upgrade the crossovers ? or try to go active ? thes are the details of my system any help would be appreciated also is there and suggestion with the jl that could be crippling the way they sound ?
