I had to move about 80 miles away from where I was living so I had to quit my job, and this dumb *** hick town doesn't have any jobs at all. I have been searching every day for the past month.
I finally was told that I would be able to draw unemployment with out waiting the 6 week period for quiting, as long as my previous employer does not contest it. Me and my previous manager were real close and he said he would hire me back or help me out with references or anything I needed, so I asked him to help me out with this, and now he is saying that he will have to pay into the reserve account, and it raises payroll, taxes, etc.
So that sucks being that my wife had to have her car repaired and we owe about 1300 on the repairs.
I am curious how this unemployment bidness works. I know if you quit you have to wait six weeks to apply as a penalty, so if I do go in in a few weeks, (will then be 6 weeks) then will my previous employer have to pay it or does it come from another source?
