understanding a 'ground' connection

i'm having a hard time understanding why you need to ground anything electrical. maybe someone can explain it better?

Think ok electricity as one big circle. If things were not grounded then the circle is not complete. When things arew grounded, electricity continues to flow through the ground wire whish is attached to the frame in car. The negative of a battery is also connected to the frame so electricity constantly flows in a big circle from positive to negative. Does that make sence?

Ground is another word for Negative ( - ). Completes the circuit.
