underpowering please explain

I just baught an MA Audio MA12ZXE. Its a DVC sub 12", with 350 rms and 700 watts peak. I am (after up grading my wiring) going to out a Rockford Fosgate 120a2 @ 2 ohms on that sub in a 2.0 cu. foot ported Q*logic box.

My question to you is sence @ 2 ohms its birth sheet says 224 watts, will this hurt my subwoofer at all? I don't wanna hurt this sub too badly, eventhough I have a year warentty, i don't wanna have to pull it to have it repaired beacuse i killed it.

The sub won't be damaged by underpowering it. You just won't be

taking full advantage of it's output capabilities. If you don't want to ruin the sub you should use a subsonic filter or get a sealed enclosure.

Exactly. Underpowering a sub wont hurt it, the sub just wont be able to produce to its max/peak.
