Underground companies

its the people behind the product that makes the difference!

how many times has someone had a question about a product and call or email the manufacture and never recieve a responce? those are sh!tty products.

if there is 2 of the same amps and 1 cost $50 more but had great customer service. the other you might be 6-8weeks getting it replaced if it dies, what are you gonna buy? please would like to know...

I remember when RF used to be the shit- Hard core quality built stuff and once they went mainstream the product went down hill- Punch subs and amps are no where near what they used to be. I still have a set of RF punch 18's from 1998 that are brand new never used rated at 250 Rms per coil- LOL- we all know thay handle more power than that but could you imagine them trying to sell a 18" rated at 250rms now- They couldn't because the wattage scene has become so over rated by BS Numbers. I wish we could go old school at least 12-15 years back when rms ratings were closer to true that you kinda knew what you were buying. Also look at all the underground compaines that didn't survive that had awsome product like Harrison Labs, Audio Art, and petra.

Because they give a shit about more than just profits //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif See Kicker, RF, and other companies that ride their former glory.

Umm no,smaller user base,so you can usually go right to the man behind the product. Any business is in it mainly for profit, they give good customer service to see more profit.

Well DB-R is a well known amp repair guy and disagrees with that statement. Steve Meade(I know,I know) still uses RF amps and so do a lot of people, same with Kicker and JL. There are just different types of bassheads with different needs. Also sometimes it's a pain in the *** trying to get in contact with people from these smaller companies, you have to write an email and wait and wait. I hate that, even some of the brands people on this forum love are a little suspect, but when you call them out people act like you peed in their butt.

not much has changed , there are companys in 12v that have a commitment to quality, and those who are running multi million dollar corporations, whose agenda is about profit margins, ( however not to say that they don't and can't make quality products , or produce new or better technology), you can get anything you want built in Asia at any standard that you want as long as you know what you are doing and who you are dealing with in Asia.

but dealing with smaller companys that are more in tune to there customers and offer great customer service ( for the most part ), and have a different company model, has it's benefits, and can be competitive with the big box brands.

And DD isn't exactly a underground name anymore, it is becoming more common everyday, and IA will end up being a common name in the industry in the long run as well in my opinion, because of Nick's marketing strategy, and company model.

Big box brands can make quality products , but you usually have to cherry pick there lines ( Brand A makes a good mid entry subwoofer,Brand B makes good mono blocks, etc.) instead of no matter what you buy it is a quality product like your more specific pro lines like Digital Designs and so forth.

$85 used jbl gto 12"s and $23/ea fullranges bruh.
But those JBL's aren't $85 when they're new. And the $23 fullranges might be really good, but inexpensive home audio drivers that you can make use of in your vehicle. I'd have to know more about them to really say anything.

Some of them are TOO underground...a guy tried to sell me an amp claiming 3000 watts....it had 45amps of fusing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Did The Amp have HYBRID stamped on it and come with a Tax Rebate (LOL)

for the record all those mainstream companies listed have their entry level products but they all have high end stuff you cant get from best buy or wallmart, fosgate, alpine kicker are every bit as good as the underground companies they cost more money but the quality is there if you look for it
