Hey, why not just REALLY cut costs on healthcare and just removes hospitals completely? That way we just won't have any healthcare costs because we won't have any healthcare! Problem solved! Check please!


Seriously, these types of arguments are pure, absolute, complete bullshit. Other countries with completely nationalized healthcare ("free" healthcare) pay half what we do per person on healthcare. Free healthcare does not drive up costs. Period.

Yes, this is the only explanation. It couldn't possibly be that I realize, like many liberals, that the way to maintain a decent economy for 99% of people starts from the bottom up, requires a strong middle class and provides benefits to those at the bottom paid by those who are well off enough to afford them. It couldn't just be that I actually give a **** about those less fortunate than me that have to scrape just to put a meal on their tables every night. No, it must just be that even though I live a very decent life and my family is well off, I'm STILL jealous for even more and even though I'm in a very good position to make money my self later in life, I just want an ENORMOUS amount of money from the government relative to what people get off of regular government benefits. As long as the government isn't sending me checks of $10k a month, I'm going to keep voting democrat because I'm just jealous.

How much time do you donate to help the poor every year? I work five days a week and I don't make enough to make any charitable donations. However, whenever I see those guys out on the streets at stop lights, I always give them a few bucks if I have some singles on me.

You obviously have disposable income. Instead of buying that computer, you could have given that money to charity. Instead of paying for broadband every month, you could donate that money to charity. Instead of spending time every day on this forum arguing what other people could do to help those 'less fortunate people' you clearly care so much about, you could be out there donating your time to help them.
