My friend drives a cavilier. and he has two 12" MTX 5500's in a prefab box. I have one 15" DD 3515 in a ford focus...why is his louder....hes only running 127 watts to each sub, im running 1200. wtf man..wtffff

Well, either his setup is exceptionally loud, or yours is exceptionally quiet.

well i turned the sub around to face the front of the car...i dont think it was louder...and i didnt really like the way it sounded.

i bet that box sucks. Sub firing into cabin, port to side. i seems that you have some space to work with, without choking off the trunk to the cabin.

i say port up sub back. Make the port fire right thru ur speaker holes. U should get more sound into the cabin witht he port firin thru the holes. Or u could fire the sub into the cabin, just seal of the trunk.

Could it be that since yours is tuned @40hz, that his is hitting the low notes better? Maybe that is why his seems louder to you?

okay so it seems that my box is not correct size according to you all. i will go ahead and talk to my local dealer and see what he will do for me....and also later on im adding an additional 3515, and im going to have 2 2000watt amps. any box ideas for that?

thanks. im thinkn of a way to build the box so the ports hit the back glass....but still not sure how it will work.
