in your opinion, what are the top brands for subs..

I don't know much about subs so i'm asking.

I've heard these are good subs::

kicker, alpine, hifonics, Mtx, and sony..

A good sub to someone could be a horrible sub to someone else. What is your budget? How much power will you have on tap?? What are your goas?? Etc.. Give us more info...

I'm just curious as to which are good subs and brands and all that jazz.

Fi, RE, DD, DC, Kicker, Sundown, Image Dynamics... those are off the top of my head.

JL is also good, but too expensive vs. what you get.

hifonics is good, i wouldn't buy there subs but the amps are pretty **** good for the price.

that is what i was looking at actually.

I was looking at 2 x kickers, and a hifonic amp, since the amp is cheaper than a kicker amp that would power the 2 x kickers.
